Corrugator process expert with over 30 years of experience in the industry
Freerk (Fred) van der Laan is a corrugating process specialist and international consultant with a highly practical focus on performance improvement in corrugated board plants. He brings over 38 years of experience in process optimization, with more than 30 years specifically in paper and board, working on key plant drivers: process stability, productivity, quality, and total cost reduction.
He is the founder of Corr-Ttag / Corr-Trading, where he supports corrugated board manufacturers through technical diagnostics (process scans), troubleshooting, and consulting. His work is complemented by chemical/additive solutions aimed at boosting output and reducing costs.
His expertise covers critical aspects of the corrugator, such as moisture and warp control, as well as the interaction between adhesive, steam, and process, and the standardization of operational best practices.

He is currently based in Spain and is part of INSCO’s teaching team, bringing to the programs a high-impact approach focused on diagnostics, decision-making criteria, and the resolution of real-world plant issues.
