Miguel Díaz
Packaging process expert with over 40 years of industry experience.
With a solid academic background in industrial engineering, Miguel Díaz began his career in the packaging sector as Maintenance Manager at Smurfit’s Quart plant, where he built the foundation of his current knowledge and experience. This role gave him deep insight into the inner workings of all machinery related to the industry.
He later became Production Manager at the same plant, where he was able to apply what he had learned to the manufacturing process and gain a 360-degree view of all aspects of corrugated board packaging production.
From there, he moved into corporate roles at major multinationals such as Smurfit Kappa and Europac (now DS Smith), where for over 17 years he was responsible for the installation, optimization, and technical troubleshooting across more than 20 plants under his supervision.
In the most recent phase of his career, he has focused on technical consulting for various multinational groups and has further developed his role as an instructor, collaborating with industry associations such as AFCO and ACCCSA.
